The act of using someone else’s words, ideas, or other intellectual property—published or unpublished—without giving them credit or permission and passing them off as unique and creative instead of referencing a preexisting source is known as plagiarism. Plagiarism has the purpose of deceiving the reader about the author’s contributions. This holds true regardless of where the concepts or language originate from: abstracts; research funding applications; applications to the Institutional Review Board; or published or unpublished articles in whatever medium (print or electronic). The Turnitin program verifies if the manuscripts contain any plagiarism. Manuscripts having a similarity index more than 19% are not processed any further.

Plagiarism will be dealt with as scientific misconduct. In the event that plagiarism is discovered prior to publication, the PJPTReditorial office will take the necessary measures.

Since the authors give PJPTR copyright to their work upon submission, PJPTRwould not accept an article that has already been published on a pre-print website.

As per the copyright policy of PJPTR, the paper becomes the property of the Journal upon submission. Furthermore, submitting the same work simultaneously to many journals is regarded as unethical.

An email stating the authors’ intention to withdraw the paper must be issued while it is being processed. To finalize the withdrawal, the editorial office will send a final letter requesting that the manuscript be withdrawn.

Please be aware that a manuscript is not deemed withdrawn till a formal email of withdrawal is sent, and using such a paper elsewhere will be interpreted as unethical behavior.
